Yaeger CPA Review Course - Is It Worth Buying?
The Yaeger CPA review course was not the first CPA review course I ever used. The other course I used resulted in failing three sections of the CPA exam. That was when I turned to the home study course offered by Yaeger. Dr. Yaeger and his team offers something that none of their competitors are currently offering: an "Instructors Hotline" (an 800 number) that students can call to ask questions about the key concepts or about the CPA exam in general. Needless to say, I made plenty of use of this service and even spoke to Dr. Yaeger on a number of occasions. The teachers were tolerant and made sure all my queries were answered before completing the call.

I found the lecture videos quite engaging and led by well qualified instructors. The videos followed a simple format where tutors explained the key practices and supplied multiple choice questions and samples. An advantage with the Yaeger system is they concentrated on materials with a higher chance of turning up on the exam. I also felt the cram DVDs offered good value and responsible for a few point boost to my CPA scores. Every DVD teaches a condensed version of a single CPA section and lasts 7-16 hours. The emphasis really seems to be on finding areas you are weak at and adding confidence and knowledge to improve them. All Yaeger CPA review course materials are are revised annually, including lesson videos which are re-filmed annually. Thus, the student can be confident that they are studying from the most relevant information.
